In the summer following my senior year of college, I worked as a digital marketing intern for AHM Brands, an advertising agency located in Eugene, Oregon. I worked on about ten different accounts over the course of the summer, which included: participating in weekly client meetings, assigning me to social media, paid search, and creative teams for various accounts, and giving me individual projects to work on. There were two accounts I will highlight below that gave me valuable experience moving forward pertaining to paid search and SEO.
The client I was probably most involved with was Zentopia CBD Beverages. I was tasked with growing their social media following, establishing target audiences and brainstorming ad creative, optimizing their paid search campaign, presenting paid search reports to the client, and writing frequent blog posts that increased Zentopia’s SEO by using high-keyword density and popular search terms. During my time with Zentopia we saw a 47% increase in net sales over a six-month period as a result of our digital marketing campaigns.
Cafe Yumm is a chain restaurant with 23 locations throughout the Pacific Northwest. I was put on their digital marketing team and helped optimize their paid search campaign for conversions. I was also tasked with creating monthly PPC reports for the Cafe Yumm team that were presented once a month.
My work with both Zentopia and Cafe Yumm gave me valuable experience in Google Ads, as I had the opportunity to learn from coworkers who had been working in paid search for many years. The tactics I learned from these people gave me the skills necessary to design a PPC campaign for Fritto Misto on my own.
